Grok Bot use case

Turn a messy old shared file archive into something you can search

A folder that many people have dumped files into for decades is full of scans, photos and odd file names, so finding one document means opening hundreds of them.

How to do it

  1. Make a copy of the archive first and work only on the copy.
  2. Ask Grok Bot to read the text in the scans (OCR), then sort the files into folders and tag each one with a date, topic and the people or places it mentions.
  3. Spot-check a sample of the tags before trusting them, and keep anything private or sensitive out of it.
  4. Ask for a simple searchable page over the files and their tags; photos with location data can even be shown on a map.
  5. BAvstria says Grok Bot did the reading, sorting and tagging and Grok Build made the search page, all in one day.
